 Guardrail claims are so frequent that they should be a core competency claim; however, the attorneys and professional collection firms muddy the waters on these otherwise simple claims. Guardrail claims are easy targets for excessive charges.

The following are tips to avoid excessive charges:

1. Check the guardrail for pre-existing damage as well as any signs of rust and deterioration.
2. Check all offset blocks for proper position
3. Check all timber posts for damage, rot, or insect infestation
4. Identify minor damage that may be aesthetic and not structural.
